Sorbonne University Partners in the Creation of the Franco-Moroccan Research Center

The creation of the Franco-Moroccan Research Center was formalized with the signing of a memorandum of understanding on October 29, in the presence of the King of Morocco and the Minister of Higher Education and Research, marking a significant step in scientific and academic cooperation between France and Morocco.

This project aims to promote scientific excellence in strategic sectors, reinforcing academic exchanges and international mobility.

Sorbonne University is partnering in the creation of the Franco-Moroccan Research Center (CRFM), the result of close cooperation among several major institutions from both countries: in France, the CNRS, the University of Lorraine, the University of Franche-Comté, and in Morocco, the International University of Rabat, Mohammed V University of Rabat, and Ibn Tofaïl University.

Together, these institutions seek to establish a center of scientific excellence focused on key fields such as artificial intelligence, renewable energy, and the humanities, while strengthening ties between France and Morocco.
Building on a tradition of strategic cooperation between the two nations, the CRFM aims to be a catalyst for research, education, and innovation.

Its priorities include consolidating existing collaborations, fostering new scientific partnerships, creating an integrated research community capable of attracting international funding, and developing joint university programs.
