MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships at Sorbonne Université and its Alliance - 2025

The Alliance Sorbonne Université (ASU) welcomes applicants to Marie S. Curie Postdoctoral Fellowships in the research units of Sorbonne Université and its partners CNRS, Inserm, Muséum National d’Histoire Naturelle, Université de Technologie de Compiègne and IRD. 

The Marie Skłodowska Curie (MSCA) Postdoctoral Fellowship is one of the most important scheme of the European Commission’s Horizon Europe Research & Innovation programme.

How to apply to the MSCA-PF call @Alliance Sorbonne Université?

1. Please select a Supervisor in a given Host Institution from the list of Panels.

2. Fill the application forms and send them as PDF files before May 15th to the email adress msca-pf@sorbonne-universite.fr.

All forms are compulsory. If you apply to several projects, a separate email is requested for each of your applications.

3. We will first verify the eligibility of your application and then send the applications to the Supervisors.

4. Supervisors will select one candidate per each "Supervisor project proposal". Candidates will be selected based on their CV and motivation.

5. The selected candidates will be contacted by Sorbonne Université and will be invited to the MSCA Master Class on June 17th - 18th.

  • Muséum National d'Histoire Naturelle (MNHN): As a research and teaching establishment and a museum, the Muséum is a crossroads of knowledge, with collections, laboratories and various sites open to the public in Paris, the Île-de-France region and the surrounding area.
  • Institut Européen d'Administration des Affaires (INSEAD): One of the largest private business and management schools. The school has three main campuses: one in Fontainebleau, in the south-east of Paris, one in Singapore and one in Abu Dhabi.
  • Université de Technologie de Compiègne (UTC): The UTC is both a French national university and an engineering school, with an autonomous training and teaching programme and a highly innovative interdisciplinary technological research programme.

  • Institut national de la santé et de la recherche médicale (Inserm): The Inserm is dedicated to biological, medical and human health research. On the international stage, it is the partner of the largest institutions involved in the challenges and scientific advances in these fields.
  • Institut national de recherche en sciences et technologies du numérique (Inria): This Inria focuses on computer science and applied mathematics. Since January 2024, it has been in charge of the Digital Programmes Agency, which aims to strengthen the collective dynamics of higher education and research.
  • Institut de recherche pour le développement (IRD): The IRD is conducting scientific and technical research in partnership with countries in the Global South, covering various fields such as social sciences, health sciences, and natural and environmental sciences.

Eligibility criteria 

Eligible applicants:

  • must be in possession of a doctoral degree at the date of the call deadline (Sept. 10th, 2025)
  • must have a maximum of 8 years full-time equivalent experience in research, measured from the date of doctoral degree awarding
  • must comply with the following mobility rule: they must not have resided or carried out their main activity (work, studies, etc.) in France for more than 12 months in the 36 months immediately preceding the call deadline

The programme is open to applicants of any nationality. Only one proposal per applicant is eligible. Beware that applicants who have applied to the MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowship 2024 call and received an evaluation below 70% are not eligible for an application in 2025.

Project applications to the MSCA-PF programme of the European Commission

The selected applicants and their Supervisors, over the summer, will write a joint proposal on their project topic, which will be submitted to the Horizon Europe MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowship call  and evaluated by experts appointed by the European Commission on the basis of Excellence, Impact and Quality & Efficiency of the Implementation by one of 8 selection panels: Chemistry (CHE), Economic Sciences (ECO), Information Science and Engineering (ENG), Environment and Geosciences (ENV), Life Sciences (LIF), Mathematics (MAT), Physics (PHY), Social Sciences and Humanities (SOC).

If selected, the proposal will be funded in 2026-2027 by the European Commission through Sorbonne Université or one of the Host institutions above, which will employ the researcher and provide the allocated research funds, as well as the logistics and necessary facilities to implement the project.
