The Science and Engineering libraries are all located on the Pierre et Marie Curie campus, 4 place Jussieu 75005 Paris.

Access libraries on the Pierre and Marie Curie campus is free and subject to availability. Registration is required to borrow documents and consult online resources.

Eligibility:
- Students or doctoral students at Sorbonne University: automatic registration.
- Active or retired Sorbonne University staff: free on-site registration in the library of your choice, provided you are listed in the University directory.
- External readers: free registration.
View and borrow
Lending rules
Home loans are reserved for users registered with the library for the current year.
- For Sorbonne University Licence or Master students: unlimited number of documents for 4 weeks, renewable twice;
- For Sorbonne University professionals (doctoral students, staff, teachers, lecturers): unlimited number of documents for one year, with the possibility of a callback if a document is reserved by another reader;
- For guests and external readers: 30 documents for 4 weeks, renewable twice.
- Summer vacation loan 2024: books borrowed from June 3 can be returned on September 20
By accessing your reader account, you will be able to :
- View your current loans and renew them with one click;
- Reserve a document already borrowed, in storage or available on site, and check the status of your request;
- Find your search history, saved searches and saved notices;
- View any messages sent by the library.
How do I access my reader account?
- Visit the Sorbonne University Library catalog;
- Click on "Login" in the menu bar;
- Enter your university login;
- Once logged in, open your profile and click on "Reader account".

All theses from the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Paris and the former Pierre and Marie Curie University are held by the Sorbonne University library.
They can be consulted in printed form, on microfiche or online, depending on their age, the distribution rights granted and the technical facilities provided by the library.
Printed versions of these theses can only be borrowed by Sorbonne University’s doctoral students and lecturers.
- Theses from the University of Paris and the former UPMC, held on a remote site at the CTLES, can be requested from the library (free service, please allow 48 hours).
- Science theses from other French universities and Grandes Ecoles can be consulted on microfiche, after locating them in the SUDOC using their national thesis number.
- Geosciences theses in print or microfiche from other French universities are held in the Geosciences and Environment library and can be borrowed in print from the master's level upwards.
Since 2014, theses have been submitted in electronic format.
