Summer and Winter universities and conferences

The Faculty of Arts and Humanities offers several programmes and conferences open to the general public.

Summer and Winter universities

Sorbonne Summer and Winter universities are special programmes offering multidisciplinary academic-level courses to all audiences twice a year, in summer and in winter. These two-week long courses are taught by Sorbonne University’s lecturers and researchers. They include, among many subjects, French as a Foreign Language courses (FLE), which are taught in collaboration with the Office of Foreign Languages (SIAL). These courses are open to anyone wanting to learn more about French culture, from international academics to tourists visiting the city, and are a great opportunity to follow unique academic-level courses without having to be registered at the university. All courses take place in person and registration is done online.

Conferences for the general public

The Faculty of Arts and humanities organises different lecture series that address a great diversity of themes and disciplinary fields, providing the general public with an opportunity to improve their skills and knowledge, and gain an understanding of current issues.
These lectures are taught in French by renowned researchers and lecturers, and are open to all without any age restrictions of academic requirements.
These lecture series do not, however, lead to the awarding of any diploma or certificate, and do not offer preparation for any examination.
