Scientific Influence Without Borders
Sorbonne University already has a campus in the capital of the United Arab Emirates, Abu Dhabi. Students there can study literature, languages, the humanities and the sciences, and soon mathematics and medicine. Degree programs in French and English have been inaugurated at the Franco-Chinese Institute in Renmin, China. Privileged relationships have been established with Francophone Africa, Brazil and India. In Singapore, we have a partnership with INSEAD as well as two joint international units with NTU and NUS. UNAM, the largest university in Mexico and Latin America, has established its European branch on Sorbonne University’s Cordeliers campus. In the same manner, Sorbonne University is reinforcing its strategic partnerships in Europe, for example with Heidelberg to develop Franco-German cooperation, and with the University of Warsaw and Charles University in Prague to strengthen collaboration with the universities of central Europe.
Mobility and Language Diversity as an Asset
Through the Inter-University Language Learning Service (SIAL), all French and foreign students, as well as doctoral candidates and Sorbonne University faculty and staff, enjoy access to language courses. More than thirty different languages are offered.
Sorbonne University fosters access to suitable living and study conditions to students who come from all over the world. In fact, it was selected by the Francophone University Agency (AUF) to provide French language courses to students who are refugees or asylum seekers.
A Global Research Perspective
Sorbonne University is a global university that addresses scientific problems with fundamental research and mobilizes its expertise to take on the major social and economic challenges of our time. It works closely with elite partners from around the world to further the growth of learning and the spread of knowledge.
